Iron, Odor, and Staining — Gone from Your Well Water
The RainSoft EC5 OxyTech uses compressed aeration and a multimedia filter to eliminate the iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide that stain your fixtures and make your water smell. Clean, revitalized water at every tap.
Cleaner, fresher well water throughout your Ohio home
Ohio Well Water Has Invisible Problems — That Aren't So Invisible
Iron stains fixtures orange. Manganese leaves dark deposits. Hydrogen sulfide makes your water smell like rotten eggs. These aren't just nuisances — they're signs your well water needs attention.
Three Contaminants. One System.
Ohio's geology contributes naturally occurring iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide to many private wells — especially in rural and semi-rural areas. Each one causes distinct, visible problems in your home.
Your exact levels are measured during the free well water test. Results vary by well depth, location, and season.
A Two-Stage Process That Actually Removes the Problem
The EC5 OxyTech does not just mask odors or add chemicals to your water. It uses a science-backed two-stage process — compressed aeration followed by multimedia filtration — to oxidize and physically trap the contaminants before they reach your taps.
Compressed Aeration
Well water enters the EC5 OxyTech's compressed aeration chamber and becomes highly oxygenated. As the water flows through, iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide react with the oxygen and become oxidized — separating the minerals from the water and bonding them to oxygen molecules.
Multimedia Filter Bed
The now-oxygenated water flows through a special blend of four filter media — each chosen for specific removal characteristics and long media life. Iron, manganese, and elemental sulfur are trapped in the multimedia bed and held there until the system regenerates.
Automatic Regeneration
The system automatically backwashes and regenerates on a schedule to flush trapped contaminants out of the filter bed — keeping media clean and effective without any action on your part. Power outage recovery is built in: if power is lost mid-cycle, the system picks up where it left off once restored.
What Changes When Your Well Water Is Actually Clean
The EC5 OxyTech's impact shows up immediately — in your sinks, your shower, your laundry, and the way your water tastes and smells.
No More Rotten Egg Smell
Hydrogen sulfide is oxidized and trapped before it reaches your taps. Showers, cooking, and laundry all benefit from water that smells clean and neutral.
Stain-Free Fixtures
Without iron in the water, the orange and rust-colored staining in your tubs, toilets, and sinks stops — and existing stains become much easier to clean and maintain.
Cleaner Laundry
Clothes wash in iron-free water — no more rust-tinted stains on whites and light fabrics. Your laundry comes out looking the way it should.
Appliances Run Better
Iron and manganese deposits inside dishwashers, water heaters, and washing machines are eliminated — protecting your appliances and reducing maintenance over time.
Lab Tested to Reduce Three Key Well Water Contaminants
The EC5 OxyTech is not a filter that captures debris — it is an oxidation and filtration system specifically engineered for the contaminants most common in Ohio well water.
Iron (Fe)
The primary cause of orange and rust-colored staining on fixtures, laundry, and appliances. The EC5 OxyTech oxidizes dissolved iron and traps it in the multimedia filter bed before it reaches your water supply.
Manganese (Mn)
Responsible for dark black or brownish deposits on faucets and inside appliances. Manganese is oxidized alongside iron during the aeration stage and captured in the filter media.
Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S)
The source of the rotten egg odor in well water. Hydrogen sulfide is oxidized in the aeration chamber, converting to elemental sulfur which is then captured in the multimedia filter bed.
